As a teen of the early 90's waking up on a Sunday morning meant one thing....... RAGE!
The ABC's video clip program was a Sunday morning staple in my house growing up.
I couldn't wait to see what new film clip had snuck into the number one spot each week and whether or not my favorite songs of the time were still in the top 10.
I remember vividly watching RAGE once fine October Sunday morning in 1994 and laying eyes on the film clip for The Cranberries then latest track "Zombie".
I was mesmorised by the dark tone the film clip portrayed which was a perfect back drop for Delores O'Riordan's haunting vocal performance.
This generation has lost something important in this day of music on demand.
Story telling film clips like Zombie are sadly almost a thing of the past.
In the 80's and 90's classic music video's were produced on a regular basis.
They gave otherwise average songs a boost that made artists millions.
Who could forget Michael Jackson's "Thriller" film clip?
Or Madonna's Music video for "Like a Prayer"?
The Cranberries video for "Zombie" was intoxicating.
It was far from an "average" track.
Dolores' vocal performance is outstanding.
It remains the Cranberries signiture song and if you haven't seen the film clip, enjoy it now below.
Rest peacefully Dolores, and thanks for the music.
