Finally a good viral internet challenge

Clean up Australia Day is a bit of an institution, from national parks to city streets, it's a great way to meet new people and do something cool for the planet, and your community.

Turns out the internet has discovered the concept, and created a hashtag to get everyone on board, and it's gone as viral as the Icebucket Challenge.

#Trashtag has swept the world, after starting on Reddit, with people from all over doing their bit to clean up.

Check out some of the great work being down below.

Sure it's all for internet points and a pat on the back, but if it's achieving a better place for us and future generations to live - surely it's a good thing?
