Night Shyamalan film, you expect creepy whispers, dark secrets, and a massive plot twist that leaves you staring at the screen in total shock.

Warner Bros. Pictures has just announced Remain, a brand new film that brings these two vastly different creative minds together. Yes, you read that correctly. The king of romance and the king of suspense have officially teamed up. It is the movie mashup nobody saw coming, but suddenly, it is the only thing we want to watch.
Jake Gyllenhaal Takes the Lead
To make things even more exciting, Hollywood favourite Jake Gyllenhaal is stepping into the lead role. Gyllenhaal is no stranger to playing intense, highly complex characters, making him the perfect fit for a movie that promises to blend deep emotion with high-stakes tension.
He plays Tate Gordon, a reclusive architect who decides to pack up his life and move to a quiet coastal town to finish his latest big project. Given that this is a story co-crafted by Nicholas Sparks, it is no surprise that our lonely architect soon bumps into a beautiful, alluring young woman who helps him break out of his shell.
But because M. Night Shyamalan is directing and writing the screenplay, this sweet coastal romance does not stay peaceful for very long. Tate quickly realises that the sleepy town is hiding a very dark side, and he is pulled right into the centre of a deadly mystery. Is the mysterious woman involved? Is the town cursed? We will have to wait to find out, but the suspense is already building.
A Star-Studded Cast and Crew
Starring alongside Gyllenhaal is Phoebe Dynevor, who most of us know and love from her breakout roles in high-society television dramas. The cast also features talented names like Ashley Walters, Julie Hagerty, and Jay O. Sanders. With a lineup like this, the performances are bound to be incredible.
Behind the scenes, Shyamalan has assembled a fantastic crew. He is producing the film alongside Ashwin Rajan, Marc Bienstock, and Theresa Park, with Sparks himself taking on the role of executive producer. The visuals will be handled by director of photography Adolpho Veloso, and the moody soundtrack is in the capable hands of legendary music composer James Newton Howard.
When Can You Watch It?
The anticipation is already high, but we have a little bit of waiting to do. Remain will hit cinemas internationally starting on the 3rd of February, 2027, and will release in North America two days later on the 5th of February.
