Eyre Peninsula contributes to SA’s record building boom

South Australia has set a new record for home building approvals, with more homes approved in 2025 than any other year in the state’s history.

ABS data shows more than 15,000 homes were approved statewide last year — a 22 per cent increase on 2024.

The surge highlights strong demand for housing and continued confidence in the construction sector.

Across the Eyre Peninsula, 185 residential building approvals were recorded in the 2024–25 financial year.

That includes 177 new house approvals and eight approvals for other dwellings such as units or townhouses.
