Port Lincoln’s iconic foreshore is set for a boost after Council secured more than $400,000 in State Government funding for major upgrade works.
The funding, provided through South Australia’s algal bloom recovery support, will go towards renewing the Tasman Terrace boardwalk and upgrading foreshore seating and dining areas.
Council says the works will improve safety, accessibility and the overall visitor experience, while also supporting local businesses and rebuilding visitor confidence following the algal bloom.
The boardwalk renewal will focus on the well‑used section beneath the Moreton Bay fig trees, while new outdoor furniture will refresh public spaces along the foreshore.
Construction is expected to begin later this year, with works aimed at enhancing one of Port Lincoln’s most popular waterfront areas.
